Nicky Griffith

BMus(Hons), GDipEd

Nicky Griffith is a highly skilled strings teacher and Cellist, based in Brisbane, Australia. Formerly Principal Cellist of the Queensland Youth Symphony, Cadenza Chamber Players and Queensland Philharmonia Orchestra, Nicky has additionally performed with symphony orchestras such as the University of Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Toowoomba Concert Orchestra, Moreton Bay Symphony Orchestra, Gold Coast Philharmonic and the Barrier Reef Orchestra. Furthermore Nicky has worked with many musical theatre companies across South East Queensland as a cellist and conductor.

 

Currently employed full time as an instrumental music teacher at four Gold Coast schools, Nicky has taught at primary and secondary schools across South East Queensland. With over a decade of experience in private music teaching, both in-person and online, Nicky has seen students successfully audition for programs such as QYO and QLD Young Conservatorium,  and is enormously proud of her students' AMEB examination results.

 

Nicky specialises in Cello pedagogy in her home studio, however as a qualified strings teacher, she also takes on students in Double Bass, Violin and Viola, dependant on level.

 

Now focusing primarily on online tuition, Nicky welcomes students  anywhere to apply for lessons. In-person tuition is only available from her home in Alexandra Hills.
